Danz’Foglie

Inspired by the iconic vaulted architectural style of Bologna, we create curved, soft-edged “modules” resembling “leaves” that bring natural symbolism to the arid surfaces of the design site.

Moreover, when a breeze sweeps across the Collywood landscape, the scene transforms—these “leaves” soar upward, creating a natural whirlwind upon the earth below.

Thus, the question emerges: how can we preserve this beautiful image forever? And how can we maximize both the aesthetic and functional qualities of these “leaves” as a lasting symbol of Bologna?

Reality reveals that the image of people standing beneath the shade of these towering “leaves” is the clearest testament to the connection between humanity and nature—the “leaves” extending their arms to embrace and protect all living things on this earth. As sunlight filters through, the shadows cast by each “leaf” become even more striking, thanks to the canopy woven from cable strands.

The passage from outside to inside gradually guides visitors toward a space where the soul finds liberation, where we fully experience nature’s beauty, where human emotion reaches its peak as we gaze toward Bologna’s rolling hills.

With practical structural consideration, the “leaves” are constructed from a simple steel frame system. Within, they are woven with cable strands. Three leaf designs are created with three varying heights: 5m – 10m – 15m.

“Art on the Top” conveys our message about the connection between people and between humanity and nature. These “leaves” enhance the site’s aesthetic appeal and help us discover the full beauty of this place—a symbol of Bologna, named “Danz’Foglie”.
